The purpose of this award is to recognise and honour PENZ members who have made sustained and significant contributions to PENZ and the physical education profession. Designation as a Fellow of PENZ is an honorary recognition for PENZ members and confers no other specific individual or collective responsibility.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a current member of PENZ.
- Must be nominated and endorsed by at least two members of PENZ.
- A minimum term of membership applies to this award.
Award Criteria:
- The nominee has demonstrated sustained and significant contributions on behalf of PENZ that supports the purposes and practice of physical education at a national local level.
- The nominee has made significant contributions to the physical education profession in a way that expands and advances the knowledge, use, and applications reflected in the vision, values and purpose of PENZ.
- The nominee has contributed to the kaupapa or strategic priorities of PENZ. (Representation, support - good fellow)
- The nominee has regularly disseminated information to the physical education community as a way of advancing the knowledge and practice of physical education.
Additional Requirements:
- The nominee will normally have been a member of PENZ for a minimum of ten years prior to nomination.
- A comprehensive statement of no more than 1500 words that reflects the four criteria in explaining why the nominee is worthy of being awarded a Life Member of PENZ.
