The Long-Service award recognises an individual who has contributed a significant number of years to the delivery of quality Physical Education, in or out of the classroom.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to any individual or group.
- Can be nominated by any individual or organisation.
Award Criteria:
- The nominee must have contributed a minimum of 30 years to the field of physical education, either as a classroom teacher, coach, mentor, or in a community-based or organisational role focused on promoting physical activity and education.
- The nominee should have a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality physical education experiences, continuously striving for excellence in their approach to teaching, coaching, or program development.
- The nominee should have contributed to the development of others, serving as a mentor, guide, or role model for younger educators, coaches, or community leaders within the physical education field.
- The nominee should have consistently promoted the importance of lifelong physical activity, modelling a commitment to health and well-being and inspiring others to adopt active, healthy lifestyles.
Additional Requirements:
- The nominee must be nominated by a colleague, former student, or community leader who can attest to their long-standing dedication and impact. Additional endorsements or testimonials from others in the Physical Education community, including whānau or peers, are encouraged.
