Throughout my 45 years teaching I have valued the contribution PENZ has made to the education sector and I have valued my membership of PENZ. I have presented regularly at the PENZ Conferences and contributed to the development of the outdoor education and physical education curriculum.
I passionate about teaching and have taught in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors
I have a Diploma in Physical Education from Otago University and an M.A from Victoria University of Wellington. My main focus has been student wellbeing in physical education, health and outdoor education. I was a Senior Lecturer at Wellington College of Education and Victoria University of Wellington. I am currently working as a contract lecturer for Victoria University of Wellington visiting teacher trainees in all subjects in secondary schools and primary.
I am a Life Member of Physical Education New Zealand (PENZ) and Education Outdoors New Zealand (EONZ). I was awarded the SPARC Supreme Award for Services to Outdoor Recreation and Education.
I now live in Waikanae I am the past President of the Waikanae Millennium Rebus Club. I spend my time, biking, paddling, skiing, swimming, gardening, catching rats and stoats, and travelling the world.
