Receiving a PENZ Life Membership has made me reflect on a lifetime of Physical Education memories and, most importantly, the people who have shaped my journey. Much of my career has been in the classroom, where I have always enjoyed creating innovative learning programmes. Later, through other career opportunities, I supported teachers in curriculum and assessment.
I joined PENZ early in my career and became involved with the Auckland Branch, helping to run workshops and mini-conferences that supported teachers across the region. Along the way, I have made many lifelong friends and valued the opportunities to connect with and learn from others in the profession.
For me, receiving this Life Membership is a great honour and something I feel genuinely humbled by. It reflects a journey of giving back through volunteering, mentoring, and supporting others, while contributing to a profession I have valued throughout my career.
