Amy Kaukau is a Board Member at Physical Education New Zealand (PENZ). With over 14 years of teaching experience both in New Zealand and abroad, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership completed in 2017, she brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to physical education.

While deeply immersed in secondary education, Amy advocates for health and physical education across all age groups, having taught in both primary and secondary schools. She collaborates with Waikato schools and tertiary leaders to develop threshold concepts for health and physical education, focusing on the core elements of the curriculum and addressing challenging areas for students.

Passionate about empowering conversations, Amy is eager to hear from schools about their successes and challenges in health and physical education delivery. She believes in learning and growing from these shared experiences to enhance education for all learners.
